Minkz Launched

FunAsset launch Minkz, a hardware and software solution that enables users to conveniently prepare, manage and post their mail, while reducing costs and manual intervention.

Minkz consists of a web interface, a print driver and an API, each of which can be optionally used to prepare and print mail documents from anywhere – making it perfect for remote workers and multi-site organisations. Mail is transmitted to an in-house central server, printed on a single production or departmental printer, then inserted and sealed in an envelope ready for delivery by the Royal Mail.

“The Minkz mailing process is completely seamless,” states Mark Dowson, Managing Director of FunAsset. “Users can prepare their mail using the Minkz web interface, any Windows application such as Word, or their own in-house software, then click a button and be assured it will be handed over to Royal Mail for delivery.”

With an entire organisation’s mail arriving at a central location, quantities required by a Royal Mail discount service are more easily attained. “We often find that individuals, offices and departments handle their own mail, meaning minimum quantities are rarely achieved,” comments Mark. “Central printing and finishing means an organisation is more likely to benefit from a discount service such as CleanMail.”

For organisations wishing to eliminate or reduce in-house printing and finishing, Minkz has an option to transmit UK-destined mail to UK Mail for processing by their hybrid mailing system called imail – developed and managed by FunAsset’s subsidiary company, Integrated Document Solutions (IDS).

Not only does imail eliminate localised printer click and consumable overheads, it also dramatically reduces an organisation’s carbon footprint. Mark explains: “Mail is transmitted and printed at a UK Mail depot closest to its destination, meaning transportation within the UK is kept to a minimum.”

The cost savings that can be gained from using Minkz can be substantial. If only 1000 items of mail are processed each day, a saving of over 40% can be achieved compared to traditional mailing processes. For larger quantities of mail or if imail is used, the savings are even more impressive.
